ACC Volleyball – Clemson vs Georgia Tech 11/12/25
Daniel Gillman is a play-by-play sports broadcaster, working at the national level as a member of the ESPN linear team covering NCAA Womens’ Volleyball & Gymnastics. Daniel also calls a variety of NCAA sports on ESPN+, primarily for Clemson. He spent four seasons as the radio broadcaster for Purdue volleyball, and another three years as the TV voice of various sports at Cal Poly. He is a 2017 graduate from the University of Florida, born and raised in Weston, FL. Daniel worked for two years as a play-by-play broadcaster for the Gators radio network while a student at the University of Florida.
In March 2019 he made his national TV debut on CBS Sports Network, calling the 2019 NJCAA D1 Women’s Basketball Championship. In the following years, Daniel broadcasted the 2023 Big 12 Soccer Championships and the Southland Volleyball Tournament. In 2024, he was the voice of the NCAA Men’s Volleyball Tournament, and in 2026 he commentated the NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Regionals. Daniel spent two years as the voice of the NCAA Tennis NIT Championships on Amazon Prime Video, and as a national voice for the former professional women’s volleyball league PVF.
Daniel hosts a national NCAA Women’s Volleyball show called “Six Rotations”, partnering with the coach’s association and spent the past 5 seasons hosting the NCAA Fan Experience at the Final Four. For two years in Indiana, Daniel hosted a nationally syndicated podcast talking Big Ten sports for the local ESPN affiliate “101.7 The Hammer” and produced the afternoon sports talk show. This was while he was the voice of Purdue volleyball for Learfield IMG.
During his undergrad years in Gainesville, Daniel cracked in as a fill-in his junior year to broadcast Florida Gators volleyball and softball on the radio for IMG Network (now Learfield). As a senior, Daniel commentated soccer & lacrosse on SEC Network+. For The Prep Zone, he was the lead play-by-play broadcaster for high school football, basketball, volleyball and baseball all over north Florida. Major broadcast highlights included the NCAA Tournament for volleyball, soccer, lacrosse, and the Women’s College World Series for softball, including the longest game in WCWS history. While freelancing, Daniel broadcasted the NAIA national championship for men’s soccer and the 2019 NCCAA Men’s & Women’s basketball championship.
In high school, he interned for 560 WQAM, a sports radio station in Miami, FL and was able to travel and cover the Miami Hurricanes basketball team throughout their ACC Championship run in Greensboro, NC and their NCAA Tournament run in Washington D.C.
Sports has been a passion of his since childhood and has now become his profession. During the summers before he graduated college, Daniel interned with Fox Sports Florida, FOX-WSVN 7 Sports in Miami, and was the play-by-play voice for the South Florida Collegiate Baseball League.
